Who Are We?
The Sports Car Builders Club of Western Australia (Inc) is a group of Western Australian enthusiasts with a common interest in building light sports cars. Most of our members are currently building variations on the “Lotus 7” clubman theme such as Locosts, Westfields, Leitches and Frasers.
Club Aims
The Sportscar Builders Club of W.A. provides a forum for Locost and other kit car builders in Western Australia to discuss ideas, assist members through their builds, and to ensure the local regulatory requirements are understood and implemented fairly and uniformly.
- Assist
kit and custom vehicle builders (whether Locost, Leitch, Westfield, PRB
etc) by documenting and sharing information amongst members.
- Ensure
that the requirements imposed by the Vehicle safety Branch and authorised
signatories (engineers) are implemented uniformly and fairly to sports car
builders of Locosts in Western Australia.
- Seek
out discounts, or methods of saving money for club members
- Promoting
the building of kit cars, and the benefits of membership of our group.
- Have
fun! (well isn't that the idea in the first place?)
Meetings
We meet on the first Thursday of every month at the offices of Fibreglass & Resin Sales at the rear of 111 Kew Street, Welshpool. Meetings are open to non members. Please bring a gold coin donation for the tea/coffee & biscuits fund.
